In today's news, one of the best/worst corrections ever, from the Associated Press. In Still Life With Monkey, there is a moment when this mistake would have belonged perfectly in the thoughts of a child whose father has just died.

On second thought...it may not be too late to add this line. Publishers like it best when an author stops writing the novel before second pass pages, but I have requested this small emendation. It's just too good.Thank you, ignorant Sheriff and ignorant newspaper reporter, and thank you especially, Corrections editor for the Associated Press.
